Instructions for making a homemade chimney. How to make a winter zherlitsa with your own hands? Different options - different instructions Homemade vents from propylene tubes

- a very exciting activity, so that “advanced” fishermen do not talk about its unsportsmanlike nature. But making such gear with your own hands is no less interesting and creative process. In this article, we will give several examples of creating such a live bait fishing rod.

Homemade options

Today we present several models for your judgment. Homemade vents of these designs will not require you to purchase any special materials or products.

Everything you need is in the drawer of any fishing do-it-yourselfer or in a typical household.

Here are some homemade winter vents for pike fishing we will consider in our master class:

  1. Flip-flop made of plastic tube.
  2. A jar from a plastic bottle.
  3. Ice pit.

Of course, to consider all the currently existing options for the format of a fishing article on the site is not enough, you will need to publish a thick book. But even these five examples are enough for creativity, because we will describe only the basic options, and each fisherman can add his own zest to the design.

Changeling

To make such a zherlitsa for pike, we need:

  • plastic tube forty centimeters long;
  • thick wire;
  • bright tape.

You see how few materials are needed for such a model, and making such a fishing rod is as easy as shelling pears:

  1. In the middle of the tube we drill a pair of through holes, in diameter they should be equal to the thickness of the wire. The holes are placed at an angle of ninety degrees.
  2. We insert the wire into these holes, it turns out that the tube stands on legs.
  3. At the front end of the tube we make a slot for clamping the fishing line.
  4. We wind the fishing line with snap on the front of the tube.
  5. We wrap the back with electrical tape of bright yellow or red color.

This trick works like this:

  1. We measure the required amount of fishing line, and clamp it in the section.
  2. We equip the hook of live bait fish and let it go under the water.
  3. We install the structure with the front end above the hole.
  4. When biting, the pike pulls on the line, and the vent turns over with its front end right into the hole, leaning on wire legs.
  5. The bright rear end of the tube perfectly shows the bite.

This chute works best in light frost and little snow.

From a plastic bottle

Of course, no Kulibin in our time can do without an indispensable plastic bottle. It also came in handy for making. In addition to the bottle itself, we still need a piece of cord, an elastic band for money and a stick cut off on the shore. The manufacturing process is simple, like all ingenious:

  1. In the bottom of the "one and a half" we make a couple of holes into which we thread the lace.
  2. We fix this cord on a stick, which we freeze over the hole.
  3. On the side of the bottle we wind a fishing line with a snap.
  4. We measure the fishing line, equip the tackle with live bait and lower it under the ice.
  5. We put an elastic band on the neck and fix a forest loop under it.

When biting, the loop will pop out from under the elastic and the fishing line will begin to come off the bottle, swinging and spinning it. This will be a bite signal.

Do not scatter used plastic on the ice and the banks of the reservoir, respect nature!

Subglacial

Such vents for catching pike are used when setting up for the night or in especially severe frosts. The entire "mechanism" in these structures is placed under water, and on the ice there is only a stick to which such a fishing rod is tied.

Under-ice vents are made from a hose, pipes, wooden flyers, soft thick wire, pieces of plastic or foam. And here circuit diagram these structures:

  • a hole is made in the upper part for a cord, with which the tackle is attached to a stick on ice;
  • a fishing line with equipment is wound around the body;
  • a slot is made in the lower part for fixing the fishing line, or a bank gum is put on.

In order to better see the bite in the hole, the upper end of such a vent is equipped with a multi-colored float, which, rotating, shows the bite.

On a leg

This do-it-yourself vent requires more work in the manufacture, and a lot of materials are used, compared to previous models:

  • plastic tube;
  • checkbox;
  • metal plate;
  • reel from fishing line;
  • hose sleeve;
  • bolts with washers and nuts;
  • base.

Despite the large number of elements, it is not difficult to make this tackle at home:

  1. Cut out the base from a piece of wooden board or hard dense plastic.
  2. We make a hole in it for attaching the tube.
  3. We make a slot for the passage of fishing line.
  4. We fix the tube in the base.
  5. We cut out a holder for the coil from a sheet of metal.
  6. We bend one end of the resulting plate around the tube-rack and fix it with bolts.
  7. We attach a coil for the vent to the free end of the plate; for this, we cut out the sleeve from a hose of a suitable diameter and insert it into the hole of the reel.
  8. We attach a flag at the top of the tube.

You can first fix the flag in the cork, and then insert the cork into the tube-rack from above. It is also possible to mount the shaft in a silicone tube previously taped with electrical tape.

This zherlitsa can also be used without a base, inserting a leg into the snow sludge and freezing it. This will save space in the bag, the music will not protect the hole from light and frost.

On the platform

This pike design is the only one that requires a drawing to accurately fit parts. The fact is that all its elements are mounted on one platform. As such, a piece of wooden board, plastic or plywood can act. Here is the sequence of work:

  1. In order to make the tackle correctly, we draw the layout of the elements directly on the basis: coils, a flag, holes and retainer brackets.
  2. At one end of the platform we attach the coil.
  3. At the second end we attach a flag made of wire with a spring.
  4. In the middle of the base we drill holes for passing fishing line.
  5. Closer to the coil we put a pair of brackets, between which there will be a charged flag.
  6. The pole of the flag must lie exactly between the brackets, the height of which must be such that they can rise above the stowed flag.
  7. The bait bait equipped with live bait is installed above the hole, and the forest loop lies under the brackets above the flagpole, charging it.

After a bite, the fishing line jumps out from under the retainer brackets, releasing the flag and signaling a bite.

Homemade coils

Speaking about home-made vents for catching winter pike, pike perch, burbot or perch, one cannot help but talk about making vent coils with your own hands.

Reels for winter fishing are made in two ways:

  • from forest bobbins;
  • made of plastic and foam.

In the first manufacturing method, a piece of rubber or silicone hose of a suitable diameter is inserted into the finished reel as a sleeve. Then a bolt is placed in the hole of the hose and large washers are put on it from both sides, closing the holes in the reel, fixing them with nuts.

In the second case, two circles with a diameter of about five centimeters are cut out of thin plastic, and a smaller circle of 3-3.5 centimeters is cut out of thick material. These circles are centered like this:

  1. Holes are drilled at the points of installation of the compass needle.
  2. A large circle is put on a suitable diameter axis and smeared with glue, this is the first sidewall of the coil.
  3. Then a thick circle of the core is put on and glued to the sidewall.
  4. The second sidewall is glued next.

A bolt suitable for the diameter of the hole is used as an axis.

In winter, the most effective is catching pike on live bait. Basically, this is done with the help of girders, as the simplest and most practical self-catchers. Ready-made gear can be bought at the store, but many use home-made options for winter fishing or do-it-yourself assembled at home from store components.

The winter vent is a fairly simple tackle, consisting of a base, a reel with a fishing line, a weight and a hook, and a signaling device. For this reason, the manufacture of vents for pike fishing does not cause any difficulties, but as a result, there are a huge number of their most diverse varieties.

There are two main types of winter vents:

  • normal, when the base with reel and signaling device are on ice;
  • under-ice, when all the tackle is in the hole under the ice and is attached to the crossbar from the outside.

We will now consider how to properly make a winter vent for pike of the first and second types with our own hands, and the ice vent can work both in winter and in summer like an ordinary vent.

Making an over-ice chute

As already mentioned, the easiest way is to assemble a vent for winter fishing from components purchased in a store.

We will need:

  • circle base with a radial slot;
  • flag-signaling device on a flexible, springy holder;
  • reel-reel with fastening;
  • for equipment: fishing line, leash, load and hook.

If the winter vent is purchased as a set, then there will be connectors on the base for attaching the coil and the flag. All that remains for you is to equip the coil.

If you want to make winter pike vents completely with your own hands, you can replace store-bought accessories as follows:

At home, you can make a vent that solves both the problem of attaching the coil and the flag to the base, and allows you to better see the signal, and save the coil from sweeping with snow.

For her you will need:

  1. A base with a slot, better purchased, but you can also make it yourself;
  2. Plastic or metal-plastic water pipe of small diameter per 30 cm per vent;
  3. Clip-mount for this tube (during construction, they are used to fasten these pipes to the wall);
  4. Two self-tapping screws, 5 mm longer than the thickness of the clip;
  5. Small reel for winter fishing rod;
  6. Flag signaling device, again purchased or homemade
  7. Insulating tape.

The assembly order is as follows:

The zherlitsa is ready, it is collapsible and easily assembled on the spot, just insert the holder tube into the clip and attach the flag.

How to equip a winter zherlitsa for pike, we will consider below.

Making an ice pit

The under-ice vent differs from the previous one in that all the tackle is under water and is tied to a stick laid across the hole. As under-ice, you can use ordinary summer vents.

But an ordinary flyer is not very suitable for winter, since it has some buoyancy and, pressed against the ice from below, can not only freeze, but simply cling to it when the fishing line is dropped.

In winter conditions, girders with a plastic tube reel work well. We will consider how to make such tackle at home.

We will need:

  1. A piece of plastic tube 10 cm long and about 3 cm in diameter;
  2. A piece of a bicycle inner tube for making a fixing elastic band;
  3. Self-adhesive film of bright red or orange color, size 7x10 cm;
  4. Equipment - the main fishing line or cord, leash, weight, hook.

The production order is as follows:

  1. We cut off a 10-centimeter piece of pipe and grind the edges;
  2. From the edge of the tube we make cuts to them (an elastic band will be attached in these holes);
  3. On one (upper) side of the tube, a centimeter from the edge, we drill two holes 1.5 - 2 mm, along the diameter line;

  4. Then, from the upper end, somewhere 2 cm from the edge, perpendicular to the cuts, we drill one hole Æ1.5 - 2 mm, for the loop holding the vent;
  5. From the opposite (lower) end of the tube, along the diameter line perpendicular to the upper cuts, we make two more slots, one centimeter each (a pinched fishing line will start in them);

  6. Even at the lower end of the tube, under the cuts for the gum, we make two recesses somewhere 1-2 mm and 10 mm wide (the fixing gum will start here);

  7. On the main fishing line we measure half a meter, and at this distance we knit a large knot, more than 2 mm in cross section;
  8. We pass the main fishing line or cord into the free hole at the upper end, until it stops at the knot tied, it should not pass into this hole;
  9. We knit a strong loop 17–20 centimeters long at the missed end of the fishing line / cord;
  10. Below it we knit another large knot that does not go into the mounting hole, ideally they should firmly fix the vent on the fishing line;
  11. We wind the entire remaining cord / fishing line onto the tube;
  12. We cut out a rubber band from the bicycle chamber so that it is larger, cut at an angle;

  13. We start the elastic band through the cuts into the holes of the upper end, it should look like curlers;

  14. We attach a weight, a leash and a hook to the opposite end of the fishing line;

  15. The zherlitsa is ready.

In the working position, we unwind the fishing line necessary for the free movement of the bait bait at the desired depth, insert it into the cuts at the lower end of the tube and fix it with an elastic band inserted into the recesses on the underside of the vent. Then we lower the tackle loaded with live bait into the water, and fasten it by the loop to the crossbar laid across the hole.

Rigging girders

Now let's look at how and with what to properly equip a vent for winter pike fishing.

As the main one, we take a braided cord or fishing line with an optimal diameter of 0.3 mm. Its thickness is usually enough to pull out the largest and liveliest pike in winter. The length of the main fishing line is taken taking into account the fishing area: the depth of the reservoir, the presence of snags, grass, reeds and other underwater hooks. In addition, holes will be drilled based on the length of the fishing line, so that a pecked pike cannot confuse the neighboring vent. The optimal length will be 10 m. If there are a lot of snags and other underwater obstacles, it will be shorter, if the depth is greater, it will be longer.

The weight is taken sliding, oblong, so that it does not cling to the lower edge of the hole when playing. The weight is selected so that it does not allow the live bait to emerge, but at the same time does not tire him very much, while maintaining mobility.

Below the weight on the main line, you can place a rubber stopper. It will not allow the weight to hit the leash attachment point. In addition, by moving the stopper higher along the line, we can lengthen the leash for the live bait.

Whether to use steel or fluorocarbon leader is up to you. The first makes it easier and more reliable to fight, the second increases the likelihood of a bite, but increases the likelihood of leaving. It is better to fasten the leash to the main line loop in the loop, so it is more reliable. If this is not possible, use a swivel and winding ring. But the more such elements, the more unreliable the tackle.

There are many opinions about which hook to put on the bait and how to hook the bait bait. Some argue for one hook, justifying this by the fact that the pike is careful in winter, and when the bait bait gets into its mouth, the only hook folds, clinging to the bait bait, and the pike does not feel it.
True, the number of empty bites at the same time increases. With one hook, the live bait clings to the back behind the dorsal fin. A double is a compromise between a hook and a tee. The double can be attached both under the dorsal fin and in the mouth of the live bait by passing the leash through the gill slit.

The trio is even more difficult. With most attachment methods, at least one tee sting will be free and can frighten off a pike when biting. The only way to attach the live bait to the tee is to pass the leash through the gill slit, placing the tee with the forearm in his mouth.
Then the pike, grabbing the live bait and turning it with its head into the mouth, will not feel the tip of the hooks, and when cutting, these tips will just be directed in the right direction. At the same time, when choosing a tee, you need to take into account the size of the live bait, with a small tee, the large size of the live bait can interfere with hooking. With this method of baiting, the tee is attached to the leash through the winding ring.

Structural elements

Since fishing for pike in winter is often a collective matter, the rest of the equipment of the vent requires additional mention.

Very often in the place of fishing, not far from yours, there are vents of other anglers. Although according to the rules fishing is allowed only on five vents, few people limit themselves to this.

Therefore, when one of the distant vents is triggered, it is not always clear whether it is yours or not, but when in large numbers, you don’t always remember the place of all your vents. Therefore, it is better to mark equipment such as coils and flags.

The reels are patterned with a red marker or white corrector (in the case of black ones), which not only makes them recognizable, but also allows you to determine whether the reel is rotating or not.

The flag is marked with some kind of letter or symbol that is visible from afar, this will save you from unnecessary runs. The flag can be marked by tying an additional bright ribbon of a different color.

The design of our vents is very simple and reliable, besides, we used inexpensive materials, which made it possible to significantly reduce the cost of construction. I will list all the necessary set of tools and materials: a piece of plastic tube (NOT POLYPROPYLENE) an ordinary tube for laying electrical wiring, quite light and durable (calculated as 25cm per vent), tape measure 3-5m (calculated as 25 - 30cm per vent) plastic base it was made of PVC plastic (calculated as 25x25cm per vent), fishing line 0.25 - 0.3 (15 meters per vent), olives 7 - 10g, leashes, hooks, as well as scissors, a hacksaw, a screwdriver and electrical tape.

First of all, we cut the plastic tube with scissors into segments of 25 centimeters. We cut carefully to get an even cut, you can use a hacksaw if there are no such scissors. These tubes will be the basis of our homemade vents, we will attach coils to them. We hammer a wooden cap about 5 cm long into one of the ends of each tube. It is desirable that the cut of the cap is also even and does not stick out of the tube; on the contrary, it is better to drown it a little in the tube.

While I was working on the pipes, Dimarik was winding the fishing line on reels, equipping them with olives and tying leashes, when we each finished with our task, it only remained to connect his creation with my work of art, for this we needed electrical tape. Having tried on the coil to the tube, we find the optimal position (approximately 1/3 of the base with a wooden cap). Our homemade girders began to take on familiar shapes.

At his job, Dimarik had enough time to cut out coasters from a PVC sheet for our future homemade girders size 25x25, A hole was made in the middle of the stand and a cut was made from one of the sides to the hole, here we will start the fishing line when installing the vent. On the opposite side of the cut, we make a notch in the form of the letter V. Here we will install the main part of the vent, later I will explain how. It is desirable that the thickness of the plastic from which the stands for homemade vents are made is the same! Plastic of different thicknesses will add a little inconvenience when installing homemade vents.

Now let's start making signaling devices - flags. True, our flags are different from the usual ones, as flags we chose an ordinary tape measure, which was cut into 25cm segments. I recommend cutting the tape measure with a margin, we hurried a little, but this did not affect the performance of the design. Cut the tape measure into 30-35cm! Then cut off the excess, and the long flag is much more noticeable. You can use a wide tape measure. In order to make the flag more visible, we cut and paste a bright self-adhesive film on both sides of the tape measure.

Looking ahead a bit, I’ll say that testing showed that flags can be seen at a distance of about 100-150 meters, BUT! There was an idea to use a reflective film instead of self-adhesive, this will allow you to see the triggered home-made vents at a considerable distance at night, by the light of a lantern. Again, no one forbids, in addition to all this, gluing or riveting a familiar piece of red cloth, this will further increase the distance of control over the vents! But let's not digress. Now we twist a self-tapping screw into each cap, but not completely. To understand how much you need to tighten, take one support, insert a self-tapping screw into the V-shaped slot and tighten it so that you can separate the two halves with a little effort and reconnect.

The final touch, fastening the gatehouse - a flag to the vent, we do it in the most accessible way - with the help of electrical tape, here you can turn on your imagination and try to experiment. The excess part of the flag is cut off, and the tip is slightly bent so that it holds on to the "horns" on the coil.

Fishing vents are divided into summer and winter periods. Their difference is in the correct construction of the structure, each of which has its own characteristics. The object of fishing for such tackle is pike, less often burbot, pike perch and perch. Due to the fact that fishing shops do not offer a wide selection of baits for different seasons, professionals and beginners prefer to cook their own at home.

Do-it-yourself winter zherlitsy

There are such types of homemade vents:

  • plastic tube;
  • bright flag;
  • reel from fishing line;
  • nuts and washers;
  • base;
  • hose bushing.

It works like this: put the leg on the snow and freeze it. Fishing line with a hook and bait passed through the reel will signal a bite.

  1. On the platform. The design is considered the most complex, as it requires a drawing and fitting of all elements. They are mounted on a single platform, which is often carved from wood or plastic. For its preparation take:
  • coil;
  • checkbox;
  • plywood;
  • staples;
  • fishing line;
  • hook.

When biting, the fishing line crawls out from under the retainer brackets, the flag rises up and signals the appearance of a fish.

There is a great deal of information about various vents in the specialized literature, but they have one thing in common - you can really catch fish on them.

The ice fishing chute consists of the following components:

  1. signaling device;
  2. bracket together with the coil;
  3. rack;
  4. tooling.

The rack is prepared from a plastic tube, and the bracket from a metal knitting needle, and their corners must remain even. The coil is made of foam, and the signaling device is made of steel wire.

When assembling a winter zherlitsa, you must perform the following steps:

  1. fasten the wire to the rack at one end, and provide a flag with the other.
  2. attach the rig to the spool.
  • On the example of an American vent with a rubber shock absorber, we recommend that you also use this feature so that the pike does not break the tackle and, when playing, the rubber smooths out sharp jerks of the fish.
  • A great way to set up the girders is to use a tripod. Unlike the platform version, this one will be securely fixed in the ice and powdered with snow, which guarantees its immobility.
  • Closer to the bait, use fluorocarbon up to 0.4 mm so that the pike does not notice the line. Nevertheless, a metal leash will still have to be used.
  • The wooden structure of the girders can be replaced with propylene (pvc) tubes.
  • A flagless vent is another option to improve your design. Use an electronic bite alarm, or even better, a pager to transmit a bite signal from a distance.

Classic variant

This design consists of several elements:

  • signaling device;
  • bracket with coil;
  • rack;
  • tooling.

It's easy to make.

  1. Take a metal tube that will serve as a stand.
  2. The bracket can be made of a metal knitting needle.
  3. The coil is made of foam.
  4. The signaling device is made from a piece of wire.
  5. Attach a snap to the coil.
  6. At the moment when the fish swallows the bait, a bright flag rises.

Upgraded classic version

This design includes the following components:

  • base;
  • signaling device;
  • bracket with coil;
  • snap.

Cooking process:

  1. The base is made of rigid foam or plywood with a diameter that matches the hole;
  2. The coil is made of foam and is fixed on the bracket;
  3. The signaling device is screwed to the base;
  4. A fishing line is threaded into the base and fixed on a reel;
  5. During fishing, the signaling device goes behind the coil, and at the moment of a bite, it starts to rotate, which causes the flag to rise up.

Reel "Spatula"

Consists of:

  • polystyrene;
  • racks;
  • hinge;
  • signaling device.

Since the signaling device looks like a spatula, it is equipped with a wooden handle, and then secured with an elastic band. The handle itself should be painted or sealed with electrical tape so that it remains bright and noticeable. When biting a pike, the signaling device stands straight, and the fishing line begins to unwind.

Wooden frame construction

The simplest model:

  1. Find a wooden flyer from a branched knot (preferably elastic).
  2. Cut a fork with a handle 15 centimeters long and 10 millimeters thick.
  3. At the end of the flyer, make a rim to fix the loop.
  4. It is better to have a fishing line with a margin of up to 7 meters and a diameter of 0.6 mm.
  5. Attach a metal leash to the free end of the fishing line.
  6. Attach a triple hook size No. 4-5 through the ring from the leash.
  7. Install a sinker on the fishing line (you can install several of them).
  8. At the bottom, fix the sinker with a swivel.

Ice pit

Such vents are simple to manufacture and various items are suitable for them that will correspond to the hole made. To prepare an ice pit you will need:

  • object corresponding to the hole;
  • a plastic tube of approximately 40-50 cm, which is fixed on any selected object;
  • the fishing line is inserted into the sawn hole of the plastic tube.

Another way to make a structure for fishing from under the ice can be built from a duralumin strip using metal wire. The method of self-preparation consists of the following points:

  1. A strip of duralumin 1x50x200 mm or more with bent ends in one direction (it is also the base);
  2. Drill a small hole in the center of the plate where the coil will be placed;
  3. Near the reel, make another hole for the fishing line.
  4. Attach a signaling device wrapped or painted in bright colors to the spring;
  5. Attach the spring to the end of the base and secure with a pin.

Another option for fishing from under the ice. For manufacturing you will need:

  • a couple of pieces of hose about 10 centimeters;
  • on one piece of hose, make a hole for attaching the loop;
  • on the other segment, cut a hole where the rope will be fixed;
  • instead of a reel, a plastic tube is used, where 10 meters of cord are wound;
  • fasten the first end of the cord with a loop, and insert the second into the slot at the end of the hose;
  • tie a sinker and a leash made of fishing line about 40 cm to the free end of the rope;
  • connect the leash with another metal leash and hook.

Equipment

All important elements:

  1. Fishing line. Due to the fact that it is less exploited, the company should not worry. Its diameter will depend on the size of the fish. Usually take up to 0.6 mm.
  2. Coil. 20 meters of fishing line are wound on it - a little more can be.
  3. Leash. Metal, so that predatory fish could not bite it.
  4. Sinker. Its mass should have a ratio of 1:2 to fish. On the river, the load is chosen from the speed of the current (it is important that the live bait is kept in one place).
  5. Signaling device.
  6. Bright flag.

Rigging girders

Regardless of the design, its equipment consists of:

  • fishing line up to 20 meters;
  • leash;
  • hook (more often they take not one, but two or three hooks - the choice is up to the angler);
  • sinkers;
  • coils.

Take a monofilament line. Coil up to 30 mm. It is important that the hook has a good point. A sliding olive is suitable for a sinker.

Checking the checkbox

Making your own flag is a solid option, especially if it's made up of different colors. A small red flag is barely visible in the reeds, and at a long distance it turns completely black. Orange is clearly visible in the bushes, but invisible at a decent distance.

A multi-colored flag will enable the angler to immediately see the bite. It is also recommended to stick strips of reflective material on the flag (at night, under the light of a lantern, they will be perfectly visible).

Manufacturing is not difficult:

  • take a rail 50x50 mm and a length of 40 centimeters;
  • set a checkbox on an elastic material;
  • at the end of the workpiece, fix the flag rod with electrical tape;
  • attach an inertial coil to the rail, which is present on the float rod; it is attached in such a way that during the scrolling the stem with the flag is straightened;
  • wind a fishing line up to 20 meters on a reel;
  • fasten a sinker on the ring from the fishing line;
  • attach a swivel to the fishing line;
  • attach a metal leash with a hook to the swivel;
  • fix the zherlitsa on the shore with a peg.

The process of making summer vents

For catching pike, perch, pike perch and other predatory fish in the summer, a vent that will float on the surface of the water is perfect. Such tackle is called a circle.

To make a summer zherlitsy (mug) you will need:

  • slingshot;
  • fishing line;
  • sinker;
  • triple hook (you can also single);
  • a wooden stake to secure it to the shore.

Instruction:

  1. tie a fishing line to a slingshot and wrap it around;
  2. going to sinker, leash and float;
  3. put a live bait on the hook;
  4. fasten the tackle on the shore to the branches of the bushes that are next to the pond.

Classic variant

With the onset of the summer season, many reservoirs are overgrown with vegetation, and in order to build a good vent for pike, you need to take into account the hard-to-reach places where this fish lives. For example, those who are accustomed to catching pike in the winter may well change the winter zherlitsa into a summer one.

The main thing is to find the necessary elements for the manufacture of the vent, on which you can wind the fishing line. Mainly use:

  • plastic circle;
  • plastic bottle;
  • piece of wood.

There are also such vents that can be installed on the water, but they require constant supervision so that it does not get pulled into the snag.

To arrange a summer vent you need:

  • choose a place where it will be attached;
  • find a wooden flyer and attach a fishing line to it (the fishing line should be 0.5 mm thick and about 7 meters long);
  • a sliding weight with a swivel to connect a 30 cm leash (required in the current);
  • retaining rings;
  • hooks (at the request of the angler, double and triple hooks can be used).
  • after installation, tie the vent to a tree or branch hanging over the pond.

Use the boat to set the vent in right place, because from the shore you will have to enter the thickets and into the water.

One of the most simple ways a bottle is used to make a zherlitsa.

  • a nylon thread is fixed on the bottle, which is fixed with an elastic band;
  • the sinker is put on a thread and put on a leash and a hook;
  • the bottle is painted in a bright color;
  • live bait is planted, and the bottle is tied with a thread to a tree branch hanging over a pond.

The only thing left for the fisherman to do is to keep a close eye on the fish to see if it has caught the vent.

Those who prefer to fish from a boat are also able to make a zherlitsa, only in this case a bottle is required large sizes, for example, a three-liter.

Instruction:

  1. a fishing line is fixed under the neck of the bottle, and a loop is wound across, which is held under the ringlet;
  2. pour some water into the bottle;
  3. make a small hole in the cap and neck of the bottle where you can tie a fishing line;
  4. then take the cord and fishing line, thread the fishing line through the bottom of the bottle and make a knot;
  5. pass the line through the lid;
  6. attach a sinker and several hooks with live bait to the fishing line.

When the pike grabs the live bait, the lower part of the zherlitsa will rise, and the upper part will go to the depth. Then you can play the pike on the shore.

Recall that not only pike, but also burbot, pike perch, perch, and rotan bite on the vents. Nevertheless, pike is the most popular object of fishing. Finally, we will give 8 important recommendations.

  • If fishing allows you to use several leashes, you can plant different live bait.
  • The bite will depend on the gear. If it is thin, then the bite will be bad.
  • If there is a strong current, then it is better to take a heavier sinker.
  • Disguise supplies for the night. The hole can be covered with snow.
  • Do not stand over the tackle and do not run from one to another. Choose a place to wait and watch the alarms carefully.
  • Observe the correct installation of the vent.
  • The bite will depend on the place of fishing.
  • It would be useful to prepare for knowledge in the field of fish behavior in the dead of winter.

Fishing homemade zherlitse from plastic tubes the most efficient. At one time, while fishing for a predator, I tried many vents of different designs. I started, like many others, with a wooden flyer. I tested factory devices made of plastic, reminiscent of the same flyer. Then there were scraps of rubber hoses and plastic bottles with fishing line wound around them. Having summarized my very rich experience in this area, I came to create the best, in my opinion, vent. Thirty years have passed since then, and even now I have practically nothing to add to this design, which is why I consider it almost ideal. I myself currently fish mainly with spinning, but many friends and acquaintances still enjoy fishing with my vents. Now about how to make a zherlitsa yourself.

How to make a vent from a plastic tube

You can make such a vent from a plastic tube - the same one that is widely used in plumbing as a water pipe (for our purposes, PVC, polypropylene or polyethylene pipes, which are both publicly available and cheap, are suitable).

We need a pipe white color(the most common option) - this is noticeable from afar. In addition, when a fish, when biting, removes a dark fishing line from a white tube, girders as if changing color, signaling a bite. This moment is noticeable from afar, which makes fishing more effective.

The length of the pipe upon purchase depends on the number of vents that you need. The calculation here is quite simple: the length of the vent for fishing from the shore is 12-15 cm, for fishing from a boat, you can use shorter vents - up to 10 cm. As for the diameter of the tube (it is usually measured in inches), it makes sense to choose it the stings of the double hook were hidden inside the tube during transportation - this is very convenient and safe.

We cut the purchased pipe into blanks according to the selected dimensions. Then, on each workpiece, we drill a through hole 5-6 mm on one side and make a cut 8-10 mm deep on the other side with a manual jigsaw. Now we equip the body of the girders with a strong rope for fastening and a fishing line, which can be easily and quickly wound onto the tube “in bulk”, or you can wind it a little more slowly, but evenly and beautifully, turn to turn.

We fix the sinker on the fishing line, tie a carabiner, to it - a leash with a hook. A piece of foam, strung on a fishing line, will be useful if you put the bait near the shore: when the sinker lies on the bottom, the foam float does not allow the live bait to lie on the bottom.

For vents installed from a boat, a foam float is not needed, there the sinker is suspended above the live bait. The length of the fishing line for coastal vents is usually 5-6 m, 3-4 m is enough for boat vents, so I have some shorter than others. However, it depends more on personal preferences - you can make all the vents the same, but the visualization of the bite, if too little dark fishing line is initially wound on the tube, will worsen.

Now a little about the tricks of attaching the girders during installation. The photo shows two options for the fastening rope. One - with a clamping tube, which should move with some tension along the rope folded in half. This method allows you to quickly fasten and then unhook the girders, especially for a bunch of coastal grass. By the way, do not be afraid that the pike will be able to tear off the zherlitsa from this grass, well, perhaps the “crocodile”.

The second mounting option is simpler, but also effective. For him, you just need to fold the fastening rope into a loop, as shown in the photo, and tighten it on a peg. A few simple recommendations for equipping vents. As I already mentioned, we tie a carabiner to the fishing line. This is done so that the leash can be easily attached and detached.

Why is this needed, because by tying it directly to the fishing line, we simplify the design? The whole point here is that, having pulled out the caught fish, we can simply and quickly disconnect the leash, put another one with a hook in its place and, having planted the live bait, install the vent again, and remove the removed leash from the fish at home. In the case of a tied leash, we will have to cut it off, then tie a new one, and this is time, nerves, and sometimes even mosquitoes ...

We choose the leader material according to our own taste - from home-made, from a guitar string, to branded, from titanium. Some use a very thick (over 1 mm) monofilament as a pike leash, which has its advantages: invisibility and low cost.

And a little about live bait fish for bait fishing. Do not use minnows, minnows or other small fish. Do not feel sorry for large crucian carp or roach - from 15 cm and more. The larger the live bait, the more likely it is to catch a large pike, and minnows and minnows most often come across only squints. Given the specifics of the tackle, it is unlikely that they will be released. So if you really catch on vents, then a decent fish.
