    When baking halibut fillets in the oven, I did not stick to a certain amount of food. It all depends on the size of the fillet that you will bake in the oven. I must say right away that this piece of halibut that I bake will be a bit big for one person, but for two it’s just right. Still, of course, it largely depends on the appetite of the person who will eat it. The following amount of ingredients fit on my halibut fillet.

    • half sweet pepper;
    • a little more than half a tomato;
    • a few green onion feathers;
    • two tablespoons of canned corn;
    • cheese, look at the peephole;
    • horseradish, four teaspoons;
    • a mixture of spices for fish, they sell ready-made in the store;
    • I wanted fresh celery greens, there were only stalks for sale, I didn’t take it, I took dry celery greens;
    • salt.

    My, I clean sweet pepper from grains and partitions. I cut the remaining pulp into small cubes.

    I scald the tomato with boiling water, put it in cold water.

    I make a cross cut on the tomato and remove the skin.

    I remove the seeds and chop finely.

    Finely chop the green onion.

    I grate cheese.

    So the foil arrived just in time. I'll need her soon. I separate the halibut fillet from the skin and bones. I prepare three sheets of foil, stacked on top of each other. Lubricate with sunflower oil and spread the halibut fillet on the foil. Salt and sprinkle with spices to the fish.

    I grease the halibut fillet with horseradish, then spread the chopped tomatoes.

    I put corn on top. Grated cheese on corn.

    I sprinkle with celery and put a layer of pepper on it.

    The final layer of green onions. Baked fillet of halibut in the oven under a fur coat of vegetables. You can call this dish that way, although not original, but in my opinion to the point.

    Cover tightly with foil and place in preheated oven on a wire rack.

    Forty-five minutes have passed. During this time, I managed to boil the rice. The halibut was baked in the oven, it’s probably even more correct to say it wasn’t baked, but languished in its own juice and the juice of vegetables, soaked in the spicy aromas of seasonings.

    I take the halibut out of the oven, put it on a plate, unfold the foil, put the cooked rice on the edge into the juice that has stood out. It begins to absorb, along with the juice, all the flavors of this fish dish. I serve it on the table in this form without removing it from the foil. Just a meal!

    Fish steaks in the oven are a healthy, light and satisfying dish that is prepared in no time. You do not need to use many different seasonings to get a special taste, as sea fish is appetizing on its own. You just need to decorate it a little with cherry tomato sauce, garlic and herbs, then you get amazingly simple and incredibly tasty fish steaks.

    • Fish steak (for example, halibut) 2 pieces
    • Butter 2 tablespoons
    • Olive oil 1 tablespoon
    • Garlic (finely chopped) 2 tablespoons
    • Green onion (finely chopped) 2 tablespoons
    • Dill (finely chopped) 2 tablespoons
    • Cherry tomatoes - ¼ cup to taste
    • Lemon (you only need juice) 1 piece
    • Salt to taste
    • Ground black pepper to taste

    Fish steaks must be fresh or defrosted. In the case of halibut, you need to take one large steak and cut it in half crosswise.

    Rinse the fish, pat dry with disposable paper towels, season with salt and pepper, and leave for a couple of minutes at room temperature.

    Rinse cherry tomatoes, pat dry and cut into halves.

    In a frying pan, melt the butter over low heat, mixing it with vegetable oil. Add garlic, dill and green onions here, mix, warm a little and remove from heat. Immediately add freshly squeezed lemon juice, cherry tomatoes, salt and ground pepper.

    Mix thoroughly to make a kind of sauce.

    Put the fish steaks in the same pan and pour the sauce over them.

    Put the fish steaks in an oven preheated to 190 degrees. And cook everything for 20 minutes. But, after 11-12 minutes, fish steaks need to be turned over on the other side so that they are thoroughly baked on all sides.

    As soon as you take the finished fish out of the oven, it should immediately be served at the table for lunch or dinner.

    Transfer the oven-baked fish steaks to a serving plate, top with the remaining sauce in the skillet, top with the tomato halves and serve. As a side dish, a vegetable salad is best, but boiled rice or pasta will also come in handy.

    An easy way to cook delicious halibut in foil with your favorite spices. Halibut in foil is very juicy and just melts in your mouth. Fish cooked according to this recipe will be a great decoration for your holiday table.

    • Halibut (fillet) - 1 pc. (one fillet per serving)
    • Lemon - ¾ pcs.
    • Mayonnaise or butter - 1 teaspoon / 20 g
    • Spices - to taste (I used barbecue seasoning)
    • Salt - to taste
    • Pepper - to taste

    Wash the halibut fillet, dry it a little and sprinkle with lemon juice on both sides.

    Rub the fish with salt, pepper and spices on both sides. I still had a seasoning for barbecue, I used it, but any spices are suitable for baking, for example, you can bake halibut with dried herbs, and grease the fillet with paprika for color, it will also be amazingly tasty.

    Fold the foil in two layers so that it does not tear during baking. If the foil breaks, then all the juice will flow out and the fish will be dry. Lubricate the foil with butter or mayonnaise and place the halibut fillets.

    Wrap the foil so that there are no gaps left and send the fish to the oven preheated to 200 degrees for 30 minutes.

    Halibut in foil is ready, serve it hot either with a side dish or as an independent dish. An excellent side dish for such a fish would be steamed or grilled vegetables.

    Recipe 5: halibut with potatoes in the oven with sauce

    Ordinary potatoes and halibut fish can be turned into a chic holiday dinner if baked in the oven with the addition of onions and the most delicate cheese sauce. Lacking, perhaps, only a side dish of fresh vegetables and a glass of white wine.

    As a big fan of cheese in general and cheese sauce in particular, I often cook various casseroles in cheese sauce. It is the cheese sauce with my favorite Provence herbs that gives the casserole thickness and spice.

    According to this recipe, you can bake not only halibut, but also any other marine fish. But it is the halibut that has very tasty dense white meat and, moreover, like any sea fish, it has few bones.

    • halibut fillet - 400 g
    • potatoes - 5 pcs.
    • onion - 1 pc.

    for the cheese sauce:

    • butter - 40 g
    • flour - 1 tbsp. l.
    • milk - 350 g
    • soft cheese - 75 g
    • Provence herbs, salt and pepper.

    Defrost halibut fillet, pat dry with napkins, dry, salt, pepper, cut into portions. Cut potatoes (5 pcs.) and line the bottom of the mold with them.

    Onion (1 pc.) Cut into rings, put on top of the potatoes.

    For the cheese sauce, in a dry frying pan, toast 1 tbsp. l. flour, then add 40 g of butter.

    Mix butter with flour.

    Pour in the milk.

    Mix with flour.

    Salt, pepper, add Provence herbs.

    Add 75 g of grated soft cheese to the sauce.

    Heat the sauce with cheese for 3 minutes so that the cheese has time to melt.

    Spread halibut pieces on top of the onion, pour over everything with cheese sauce.

    Bake halibut with potatoes for 25 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.

    Baked halibut with potatoes and sauce is a self-sufficient and complete second course that does not require the addition of a side dish. However, it will not be superfluous if you serve greens or vegetable salad to such a fish casserole. Now it remains only to enjoy the splendor of Mediterranean cuisine!

    Recipe 6, step by step: halibut with vegetables in the oven

    Today I will share with you not difficult, but delicious recipe: halibut baked in the oven. We will prepare all the ingredients necessary for this.

    • Carrot 1 pc.
    • Onion 1 pc.
    • Potatoes 2 pcs.
    • Halibut 500 g
    • Butter 50 g

    Let's start cooking our dish by washing the potatoes with a brush and boil them in their uniforms. Then peel the onion from the husk and cut it into small cubes.

    We also peel the carrots with a vegetable peeler and grate.

    Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and fry until translucent.

    And add carrots to fry to onion on a frying pan.

    Peel the boiled and cooled potatoes in their skins and cut into circles, as shown in the photo.

    Prepare a piece of foil. Lubricate the shiny side of the foil in the center with butter. This will give our “pillow” a special taste. Regarding the foil, it should be noted that we bake the dish by wrapping the shiny side inside, as it holds back the heat and does not give it back out.

    Spread potatoes in the center of the foil and add carrots and onions on top.

    We open the foil envelopes - and we see the most fragrant tender baked fillet. Just as simple and tasty, we can cook not only halibut, but also other types of white fish according to this recipe.

    • 700-800 g halibut fillets (usually 4 pieces)
    • 1.5-2 medium length carrots
    • 1-2 celery stalks
    • 4-5 stalks of green onions
    • 80-90 g butter
    • 4 tbsp. tablespoons chopped parsley
    • 2 cloves of garlic
    • 0.5 teaspoon tarragon or marjoram
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • ground pepper to taste

    At the same time, put the fillet for defrosting and butter for softening on the table. Softened butter (we can finely grate it for warming speed) is mixed with chopped parsley, chopped garlic, marjoram or tarragon, pepper and salt.

    We prepare vegetables: thinly chop carrots and celery, which is convenient to do on the side of the grater designated for shredding cabbage. Finely chop the green onion.

    Divide the washed dried fillet into halves lengthwise. We cut off the foil rectangles according to the number of fillet halves, lay the fish on them. We spread each piece of fillet with oil and herbs.

    Cover with slices of celery, carrots, sprinkle with onions.

    We connect the foil tightly in the middle and especially well - the edges. Put the prepared envelopes with fish on a baking sheet and bake for 15-17 minutes in an oven heated to 220 °.

    This recipe is convenient for this: you can prepare the fish a few hours before baking by placing the envelopes in the refrigerator.

    Recipe 8: Halibut Baked with Cheese (Step by Step)

    Halibut fish is tasty, fatty and healthy. It contains omega-3 fatty acids, nicotinic and glutamic acids, vitamins D, B, E and many others. useful substances. Everything is preserved in the baked halibut beneficial features and delicate structure. One minus of this fish is the price. Halibut is quite an expensive fish. An alternative can be ordinary flounder, no less tasty and healthy, but cheaper.

    • Halibut - 3 pieces (600 gr)
    • Hard cheese - 20 gr
    • Breadcrumbs - 1 tbsp.
    • Greens, salt, pepper.

    Rinse and dry a small bunch of greens and cut as small as possible.

    Rub the cheese on a fine grater. Mix greens, cheese and breadcrumbs.
